MINUTES of the City Council, August 28, 2025
The city council of Moody, Texas met in a public session, August 28, 2025, and thereafter, will meet for a called session. This meeting was duly announced in accordance with Title 5, Chapter 551, of the Texas Government Code. The following items were addressed:
No one was present for Public Hearing, Called session started at 6:02pm.
- CALL TO ORDER, ESTABLISH A QUORUM IS PRESENT. Mayor Charleen Dowell called the Moody City Council to order, determined that a quorum was present with Mayor Pro-Tem, John Carpenter, Carol Haas, Michael Bransford, and Cody Goodwin. Members of the Council Bar also in attendance was the City Administrator. The City Council was called to order and the called council meeting started at 6:00pm.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE & PRAYER. The group assembled in the pledge to the U.S. Flag and to the Texas Flag. The group offered a prayer for the group and proceedings.
3. Item #3 Public comments on Agenda items.
None.
4. Item #4 Public comments on Non-Agenda items.
None.
5. Item #5 Adopt tax rate. Adopt maintenance and operation rate of .406525 and adopt interest and sinking rate of 0.054059 for a total tax rate of 0.460584. A motion was made by Cody Goodwin and seconded by Carol Haas, all for and none against, motion carried.
6. Item #6 Executive session if needed.
7. Item #7 Adjournment. Meeting was adjourned at 6:09pm.
