BOIL WATER NOTICE

September 1, 2020

Keith Fisher, City of Moody Director of Public Utilities has issued the following:

The City of Moody is issuing a “BOIL WATER NOTICE.”

Startling today, September 1, 2020 for all customers on the City of Moody Water System that live on Dietra and Vandiver Drive only. This “BOIL WATER NOTICE” is due to repairs to a two-inch waterline on Dietra. Due to these conditions which have occurred today in the water system, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, TECQ, has required the system to notify all customers in the City of Moody Water Supply to boil their water prior to consumption. The “BOIL WATER ORDER” will be in effect until further notice.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase water from some other suitable source. When it is longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you.

THIS BOIL WATER ORDER WILL BE IN EFFECT UNTIL LABORATORY TESTS CONFIRM THE WATER IS SAFE TO DRINK. THIS ORDER WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT THROUGH THE WEEK UNTIL TESTS COME BACK SAFE
