BOIL WATER NOTICE

March 9, 2022

Beau Massey, City of Moody Director of Public Utilities has issued the following:

The City of Moody is issuing a “BOIL WATER NOTICE.”

Starting Wednesday March 9, 2022 for all customers on the City of Moody water system.  This BOIL WATER NOTICE is due to repairs being made on an six inch major water main located across the street from the elevated storage tower on 8^th Street. Due to these conditions which have occurred in the water system, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the system to notify all customers in the City of Moody Water Supply to boil their water prior to consumption.  This ‘Boil Water Order” will be in effect until further notice.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption.  The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase water from some other suitable source.  When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you.

THIS BOIL WATER ORDER WILL BE IN EFFECT UNTIL LABORATORY TESTS CONFIRM THE WATER IS SAFE TO DRINK.   THIS ORDER WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT THROUGH THE REST OF THE WEEK

AND MAYBE THROUGH THE WEEKEND.
