Due to the open position of City Administrator the City of Moody, Texas is conducting a search to find a City Administrator. The Council is seeking an experienced, visionary local government city administrator with a solid background of successful accomplishments in a responsible municipal management position such as city administrator, assistant city administrator in an organization comparable to the City of Moody. These experiences should include a strong background in providing effective and efficient public services, the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure, a working knowledge of municipal finance including utility financing, and a conservative approach to budgeting.

The compensation is open depending upon the background and qualifications of the successful candidate. The City has a generous benefits program including Texas Muniipal Retirement System, health and life insurance, paid vacation holidays and sick leave.

Requirements

Incumbent must have knowledge of budgeting, financial management, community development, community relations, legal and employent related issues of a municipal government including, city, state and federal laws. Must possess good problem-solving skills with the ability to mediate disputes effectively. Must be dependable.

Education, Certification and Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration preferred, or a closely related field or any combination of experience and training with provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

The City Administrator is allowed to live outside the city limits.

Supervisor or Administrative experience required.
